The trail descends slowly until you climb again to mountain ridge to Almara. Pass the forest trail to arrive at Riden Gaon. The valley here cuts into another side of the river to enter Budhi Gandaki. At Labubesi, the trail follows down to the sandy river bed of Budhi Gandaki. Camp tonight at Machha River.

Day 05: Trek to Jagat (1,340m/4,382 ft), 6 hours.

After crossing Machha River and Khola besi, there is a hot spring called “Tatopani”. The trail follows forested area after this toward Dovan. Below Dovan, there is a huge rapid at Budhi Gandaki. As the elevation increases, the rapids and the scenery undergoes a complete transformation. At Jagat, there is a police check-post where your trekking permit will be checked.

Day 06: Trek to Ngyak Phedi(2,310m/7,554 ft), 6 hours.

After ascending to a terraced hill of Saguleri and view of Sringi Himal (7177 m). we continue towards Sirish Gaon, Gandaki valley narrows from herewith soaring precipitous walls.

Day 07: Trek to Ghap (2,100m/6,867 ft), 7 hours.

You will pass the stone gate and long Mani stone wall of the village after Lho with a full view of Peak 29 ahead. You can make a side excursion to Pungen Glacier from here to get a very close up view of Manaslu. Follow the lateral moraine of Pungen Glacier toward Sama. From the village of Sama, it takes another 20 minutes to reach Sama Gompa for night halt.

Day 10: Samagaon half day hiking. Samdo trekking (3,850m/12,628 ft), 5 hours.

We will spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air and also for a local excursion to visit Birendra lake. You might take a full day hiking excursion takes roughly 8 hours to get Manaslu base camp and return to Sama Gaon. After Lunch, we climb a terraced hill on the opposite bank of Budhi Gandaki River from here toward a most remote permanent settlement to Samdo. Here amid the most severe conditions of nature live some 200 in forty houses check-by-jowl.

Day 11: Samdo ridge hiking. Trek to Dharmasala (4,460m/14,630 ft), 5 hours.

We recommend you to consider spending two nights in Samdo village. Use an extra day to explore the valley north of Samdo toward Tibet and the Gyala Bhanjyang pass. The official tourist map on the Samdo sign post labels show that this valley is “snow leopard area” and whether it is or not, it would make for an exciting samdo day hike.

In addition, we take a short walk of about 3 hours to reach Dharmasala. Hike up to the north from Dharamsala steep ridges toward the Fukang Danda is recommended in terms of magic mountain view. Dharamsala is really just a stone hut, pit toilet, and tent grounds. If you are lucky enough, you can see blue sheep, including a nice ram.

Descending is more difficult rather than ascending as the trail is thin and steep. However, we walk over the landslide and old moraines towards Bimphedi. Bimthang is a great place of widely open sandy ground.

Day 13: Trek to Tilje (3,900m/12,753 ft), 7 hours.

The route gets easier today. We start with a gentle climb through paddy fields towards the small Karcha La pass and descend through big tree and rhododendron forests to Tilje.
