Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu valley (1350m/4,415 feet)
Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport we will receive you with private car and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu or Bhaktapur with breakfast. Our representative will give you brief information about further programs.
Day 02 : Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m/2,989 feet) 6hrs
Pokhara city lies on 210 kilometers west of Kathmandu. As you climb out of the Kathmandu valley Thangkot, only to quickly descend again to the Trishuli River, you follow upstream to its junction with the Marsyangdi River. You follow the Marsyandi gently up through heavily terraced fields and small hill towns to the Seti River that takes you directly into Pokhara.
Having pleasant weather, Pokhara is tourists paradise with the combination of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. During the journey, one can observe views to the north across the hills and Fewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. You can also take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara instead of drive.
Day 03 : Drive from Pokhara (915 m) to Nayapul (1050m/3,434 feet) and trek to Tikhedundha, 4 hrs
It takes one and half hours drive by private car / taxi / van / jeep. Now, you begin your trek from Nayapul (1050m.) to Tikhedhunga (1577 m.) via Birethanti (1065m.) After breakfast at the hotel, you could drive by car for one and a half hours to Nayapul. Then you start your trekking. The first part of your trek is easy passing through numerous small villages and settlements.
The majority of people here are Gurung and their religion is Buddhist. They are engaged in agricultural activities, tourism business and some in Gorkha and Indian regiments.
Day 04 : Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2675m/8,747 feet), 6 hrs
As you ascend along the path that leads to a forest, you will find Annapurna South, hidden by a ridge. Beyond Banthanti, there are magnificent forests of oak and rhododendron. After crossing several crystal-clear mountain streams, you arrive at the village of Nangethanti. Another few hours of trekking through the forest, you reach Ghorepani. Ghorepani literally means “horse water” and is a popular watering spot for mules, which ply this route from Pokhara to Jomsom and beyond. A ten minutes walk takes you to a small pass and further to the village of Deurali. For proper acclimatization, you rest at Ghorepani.
Day 05 : Trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani (1189m/3,888 feet), 5 hrs
You can catch an amazing view of the sunrise from an ideal vantage point of Poon Hill. After breakfast, you descend to Tatopani through the rhododendron forest amidst the magnificent natural vistas. As you near Chitre, you get an awe-inspiring view of the Dhaulagiri range. The path then leads through terraced fields to Sikha, a Magars village clustered on a ridge.
You continue descending, gradually at first and then more steeply to cross the Ghar Khola. After a short climb, you cross the Kali Gandaki on a large suspension bridge, and from thereon, it is only a short distance upstream to Tatopani. Tatopani takes its name after Natural hot springs near the river below the village.
Day 06 : Trek from Tatopani to Larjung (2025m/6,622 feet), 7 hrs
You have to follow the trail that ascends gently up the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, towards the village of Dana, which is surrounded by orange groves. During the trails, you come across local people selling baskets of oranges. Just beyond the small hamlet of Rupse, a thundering waterfall cascades down beside the trail. Thereafter, the trail enters the steepest and narrowest section of the gorge. You will find the layered stone path well-constructed and wide. As the rock cliff ends, you head towards the larjung village where you can see several flat-roofed Tibetan style houses in Ghasa.
Day 07 : Dhaulagiri Icefall trekking day tour (2,800m/9,156 feet), 8 hrs
Today, we can hike roughly about 800 meter up towards Dhaulagiri glacier to get the best view of Annapurna range and as well as Dhaulagiri icefall. If you are interested to explore Dhaulagiri icefall than you can extend your trip two or three more days.
Day 08 : Trek from Larjung to Kagbeni (2800m/9,156 feet), 7 hrs
The trek ascends crossing the wide valley of Kali. Throughout the trek, you will be enjoying with Thakali people and their tradition. Marpha we trek along the banks of Kali Gandaki through the Apple orchard, you can eat apples if it happens to be the fruit season. Marpha is a big village enriched with a Buddhist Monastery in between the village which has its own cultural importance.
As the trail continues towards Jomsom bazaar, the landscape becomes increasingly barren and impressive with its mixture of browns, yellows, and grey, contrasting with the white snowcaps of Tilicho and Nilgiri. Reaching Kagbeni is a gateway to upper mustang with an ancient forts.
Day 09 : Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3795m/12,410 feet) 5 hrs
The trail steeply ascends for a couple of hundred Meters. While gradually walking you can enjoy the beautiful deserted landscape, Caves, old Tibetan Style Villages, apple Garden, Yaks Herds, Sheep Herds, and so on. You can look at Thorong La valley straight up to the Muktinath. You can enjoy a delicious lunch at Jharkot and visit Monastery believed to be built in 15 century. Now you head towards Muktinath following steep ascent path for half an hour.
You stay overnight at Muktinath village. From here you hike to Rani Pauwa (3710m), an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Here you come across Natural flaming which really exhilarates you. Visit a holy Muktinath Mandir where you shower in 108 Taps to get salvation. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m.) and many other mountains can be seen from here.
Day 10 : Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom Bazaar (2730m/8,927 feet) 5 hrs
Heading away from Muktinath, you retrace your steps to Jomsom taking on the magnificent view of Nilgiri. You stay overnight in Jomsom. In the evening you celebrate the completion of your trek with the crew.
Day 11 : Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara
Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes. The flights are available during the morning time. The strong breeze blows during and after and frequent change of the weather prevents the flight from being landed and taken off in the afternoon. During the flights in the morning, the sky looks very clear which makes you able to enjoy the splendid views of different mountain peaks. As you land in Pokhara, take an available either tourist bus or Microbus back to Kathmandu city. You can also fly to Kathmandu if you don’t like the long journey bus ride.
Day 12 : Final departure
Drop you in Kathmandu International Airport onward your destination and our trip end.
