World peace pagoda, estimated 03 hours hiking from Fewa lake side
World peace pagoda Located on a hill just above the famous lake Phewa / Fewa facing Mount Fishtail. It is one of the tourist attractions of Pokhara. It can be accessed by hiring a boat and rowing across the lake and climbing for about 20 minutes, or by trekking from the road that passes Devi Falls. Depending upon your requirement, this trip can be done in half-day to the full-day excursion. As is it located above the on the top hill of Phewa lakeside, the views you experience the best. The Stupa offers a great place to see the sunset over Pokhara and Annapurna massive.
Dhampus hill (1,770m)- day hike – 6/7 hours
A very scenic drive of about 30 minutes takes you past Pokhara to where you start your day hike, this place is called Phedi which means the bottom of the hills. You ascend through beautiful farmland as you make your way to Dhampus village as there are absolutely stunning views of Machapuchare, made all the more beautiful by the rural scene in front of fields of corn and wheat, small villages, and women in brightly colored saris. Trek further to Kande which is about one and half hour where transport would be waiting, transfer to hotel at Pokhara (45 minutes).
Kahun Danda – Day hike – 5/6 hours
It is another enchanting hill north of Pokhara and takes about two and a half hours to reach from Mahendrapul downtown. The trail starts crossing the newly built bridge at Seti Powerhouse (Narayanthan) and from near the army barracks at Phulbari across Mahendrapul and climbs slowly up a slope. The essential view from the top of this hill is the panoramic view of the Annapurna range and the flat span of Pokhara valley.
Sarankot (1,610m) hill station – day hike – 5 or 6 hours
It is the closest viewpoint located above Fewa LAKE of Pokhara city. The drive to the Bindabasini temple is about 10 minutes from the lake area where most tourist hotels are located. The track is along the road that starts from the temple and goes halfway to the top. The ridge top is about a 3-hour uphill walk. From the end of the road, it is about an hour’s walk. There is a view tower at the top and few tea shops for refreshment.
Naudanda (1443m) hill – day tour – 6/7 hours
Follow the trail to Sarankot and walk further on the Kaski ridge to Naudanda. It is a large Gurung village, which has become an important junction for travelers. There are several lodges and tea houses. The walk along the ridge is a nice and easy all the way to Naudanda. You can see a beautiful view of Phewa Lake and Pokhara City to the south. Drive back to Pokhara. There is a superb view of the Annapurna range, particularly Machapuchare (Fishtail peak).
Trek to Australian base camp (2300 m) – day hiking – 3 days
Trekking via Kande to Australian base camp offers stunning views of the Central Himalayas. It is one of the loveliest treks from Pokhara. Everything from the mountains to the villages and terrace farms along the trails of this trek is superbly beautiful. A highly recommended Pokhara trekking. The return hike via Dhampus is also equally enjoyable.
Trek to Ghorepani – Poon hill (3210m) – day hiking – 4 days
This is one of the most popular treks of the Annapurna region. This trek can be leisurely done five days if you have enough time. But a leisurely five-day version of the trekking is also equally good if you have enough time. Starting from the lovely Modi Khola River at Birethanti the trek passes through farming villages and rhododendron forests. There are occasional encounters with the mule caravans carrying supplies to the mountains. The sensational view from Poon hill will be a lifetime treasure for you. In spring Ghorepani and poon hill trekking tour offers spectacular colorful rhododendron flowers as the whole forest here blooms.
Trek to Ghandruk via Landruk Village (1620m) – day hiking – 4 days
This trek offers not only exceptional mountain views but also a rewarding cultural experience. Starting from low land farms to hill villages and the trek reaches the traditional Gurung village of Ghandruk at the lap of the Annapurna. Well kept lodges, friendly people, and beautiful landscapes are the highlights. Returning via Thakali settlement at Birethanti, the trekking ends at Nayapul from where we catch our transport to Pokhara.
Trek to Ghorepani – Poon hill (3210m) – Ghandruk village – day hiking – 5 days
Ghorepani or Poonhill trekking or Ghandruk trekking is a combined itinerary of Annapurna trekking offers the best of these two routes and the views is outstanding from Poon hill station. Ghorepani and the superbly beautiful hill of Ghandruk village have two main attractions of this trekking trails which we recommend you if you have thoughts to explore short Annapurna trekking around Pokhara valley. This trek can be extended to six days if done rather leisurely.
Hike to Begnas lake (800 meter) and its surrounding – 1 or 2 days
Begnas is another beautiful and quiet lake in Pokhara valley. A Pokhara hiking combined with the boating in non-touristy Begnas Lake is a highly enjoyed trip. The Begnas region has a picturesque hill village and good vantage points, often visited by no tourists. There are a couple of good resorts by the lake. The Begnas region offers excellent hiking opportunities on the surrounding hills. These hikes offer superb mountain views and beautiful hill villages. We carry packed lunch for daytime and for the night we can either stay in the l resorts by the lake or return to Pokhara.
